Hi guys I’m very new to raspberry pi. I’m currently working on a project which requires me to make a script on the pi. The problem is I’m always on the move. So I need to be able to access the pi gui on my laptop and be able to work on it. I don’t have internet access in most places. I have been able to ssh in via an Ethernet cable but am stuck on the Vmc part. My main goal is to work on the pi desktop on my laptop will only using a Ethernet cable and a micro usb. Please help out and thanks in advance!
There seems to be no reason in principle why you should not be able to set things up the way you hope.
VNC should neither know nor care what sort of physical network connection it is being asked to use. That was an important feature of TCP/IP networking when it was invented 50 years ago.
And in practice I make use on a daily basis of an RPi[5] running RasPiOS from a 'wintel' Desktop machine running MS Windows 10. Both machines use cabled Ethernet, and VNC is used to access the Raspberry Pi Desktop GUI interface.
Perhaps give details of the hardware and Operating System combinations being used as the RPi target and as the workstation, and indicate how/where you have got 'stuck.' Where does the micro usb fit into this requirement?
There is Raspberry Pi documentation available here -
