On my Pi 5, running bookworm, I can get 8 channels of HDMI audio out, however the channel order is wrong.
Only the front left channel, channel 1, plays in the correct location.
Despite hours and hours of googling, I can't find how to fix it, or even find at what layer to attack this (ALSA, Pipewire, somewhere else?).
I think the device is 80 vc4-hdmi-0 and the profile is Digital Surround 7.1 (HDMI).
The channel order needs to be LF, RF, C, LFE, LSS, RSS, LS, RS.
Once that is working I'll probably also need a way to have 5.1 material map to LF, RF, C, LFE, LS, RS (skipping the side surround speakers).
