I was able to force Wayfire back into 240p mode using the display configuration, but then it still goes off the edge of the screen.Because it still went into other resolution than 240p?
Or else?
I'm not sure a picture will help, considering they look identical and 6by9 says they won't do anything anyway.it will underscan for sure. Anyhow, your results should look different. Post a picture with and without margins added.
Now this sounds promising! How do I do a custom modeline on here? Do I use cmdline.txt, or something else? I also noticed when using 240p mode with Wayfire, in addition to being overscanned, the picture was also very squished. Circles were much taller than they were wide. But I feel like if I can set the modeline to whatever I want, I might be able to tweak it until it looks right.Setting margins in the command line only tries to set the DRM properties of the connector if they exist. They don't on RP1 VEC as it doesn't implement scaling.
However composite video is analogue in nature, so the pixel clock means very little other than clocking a state machine. You can either scale the mode to your heart's content in a custom mode line, or there is already 704x432i and 704x512i modes defined with their progressive counterparts of 704x216 and 704x256 which have trimmed down the active areas.
