@njh - I believe that what @cdsteinkuehler is reporting is the behavior I was observing earlier in this post. He is testing with 6.6.y where the PR #6157 has since been merged. When I was using PR #6157, it was properly using burst mode by transmitting all the lines before returning to the LP state, however, also having the timing inconsitencies mentioned by @cdsteinkuehler that are shown in the oscilloscope trace provided in the previously linked post (this one). Using the stable_20240529 branch is where I was seeing a return to LP mode after each line transmission.
though I think you already checked that the start-up sequence looked correct. Does your driver send any commands after start-up?
That's correct, the startup sequence is operating properly on the Pi 5. The manufacturer provided a BIST test image that was able to be displayed using LPDT commands on the Raspberry Pi 5.

While I was testing with the stable_20240529 tag (and briefly with PR #6157), the GitHub link provided by @cdsteinkuehler has the changes I was testing with that he applied to the 6.6.y branch.
