According to the chief of throttling and dog treats, the GPU firmware is responsible for the thermal management. Therefore, unless effort was taken to defeat the throttling, it should just work.Hi,
I have a raspberry pi 4 and a raspberry pi zero 2w both runing on alternative os, not the official one.
I don't have any heatsink installed, and I want to be if the thermal protection is working even if the os is not raspbian.
can you confirm me the thermal throttling is working on any OS I put in raspberry?
One could test throttling programmatically using Fido's Pi race as demonstrated in
https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopi ... 2#p2057152
If, upon graphing the data output by
$ ./pirace -o pi4b.dat -n 8192
one obtains an organised looking constant region followed sharp drop in FLOPs with random scatter, then the Pi is throttling.
