You can disable screensavers from the Configuration Web UI in menu Screens/Screensaver/Screensaver Delay by setting a delay to Off.
Regarding the official display, please check the post above from y2kats65, he was able to make it working with the latest edition:

If it really works fine I'll create a disk image for the next release (tentative release date - end of May).
